Every Christmas, Medellin lights up with Christmas lights. This event is called Alhumbrados.
This is an event for the whole family, and although I didn’t go with children (does my inner child count?) it was still enjoyable.
Lots of street food to try, ‘circus performers’ and even an outdoor concert. This year Alhumbrados was held at Parque Norte so some of the rides were open. I was told that it was usually held on the river banks but as they are renovating the park, it was held at Parque Norte instead. Either way, it’s an event to check out, as the designs change every year, and gives you a reason to visit Medellin around Christmas time annually.
